"It was only when I could no longer chew without problems that I realized how much quality of life is involved. Today, that feeling is back."

I am officially retired, but I prefer to call it 'active retirement.' Professionally, I managed the production of pharmaceutical intermediates and final stages for many years. Today, I am involved with FC Basel, where I support junior players as an ombudsman on their path to professional sports. It is a task that is very close to my heart.

I was faced with the decision to have my damaged teeth replaced several times. Repairs were no longer possible. For me, only a permanent and high-quality solution was an option. I now have three dental implants.

Before the procedures took place, a careful preliminary examination was always carried out. Each operation lasted around 45 minutes and was painless. The surgical setting was new to me at first, but I quickly got used to it.

Of course, a dental implant is an investment, but quality has its price. And I am willing to pay for quality. I know colleagues in my circle of friends who had implants placed abroad and subsequently had to struggle with inflammation, fractures, or poorly fitting constructions. I wanted to avoid that at all costs. Having a reliable local contact person was important to me.

I have had my first implant for five years now and have not had any problems so far. Follow-up care is limited to the usual check-ups; nothing more is necessary.

Today, I enjoy being able to chew vigorously on both sides again. You only really begin to appreciate this matter-of-factness once you have lost it for a while. I would choose a dental implant again at any time.
